1. Who we are

VerifiedUK is operated by Limely Ltd (Company Number 08730008), a company registered in England and Wales. Limely Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through the VerifiedUK service. Contact: hello@verifieduk.com.

2. What we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data — email address, name, and the business you represent. Provided by you at signup.
  • Company data — company name, company number, registered address, directors, and filing history. This is public information sourced from the UK register at Companies House.
  • Billing data — billing address and card details. Collected and stored by Stripe on our behalf. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Usage data — logs of how you use our service, including IP address, user agent, and timestamps. Used for security, debugging, and preventing abuse.

3. How we use it

We use your data to:

  • Verify your company against the UK register.
  • Issue and display your certificate.
  • Take payment and manage your subscription.
  • Send you service-related emails (verification, billing, product changes).
  • Prevent fraud and secure our service.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We rely on the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract with you, (b) our legitimate interests in running and improving the service, and (c) compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data with a limited number of providers:

  • Stripe (Ireland) — payment processing.
  • Vercel (USA, EU regions) — website and API hosting.
  • Resend / other transactional email provider — sending service emails.

Each provider is bound by contract to protect your data. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.

We also receive company data from Companies House, the UK register of companies. This is public information and is not personal data supplied by you.

5. What appears on your certificate

Once verified, your certificate is a public page displaying: your company name, company number, incorporation date, directors’ names, and the date of verification. This information is already public on Companies House. By subscribing to VerifiedUK, you agree to this being shown on your certificate page.

6. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and to remember your preferences. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The embeddable widget useslocalStorage on the site displaying it to remember whether a visitor has seen the seal before. It does not identify individuals or share data.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your account data while your subscription is active, and for up to 6 years after cancellation to comply with UK tax and financial-record obligations. Company data pulled from the UK register is retained for the same period.

Certificate pages remain accessible while the subscription is active. On revocation, the page updates to reflect that the certificate is no longer valid.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Port your data to another provider.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your rights are being violated.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@verifieduk.com.

9. International transfers

Some of our providers (e.g. Vercel, Stripe) process data outside the UK, typically in the EU or US. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we’ll email you before they take effect.
